To introduce more crypto enthusiasts to Litecoin, ViaBTC held an online seminar on June 16, 2023, via their official Twitter account. The seminar brought together many insiders, including Keith Yong from the Litecoin Foundation, Dmitry Gomon and Arthur from Hiveon, Shan Belew from Litecoin OG, and Paphy Cai from ViaBTC. The discussion revolved around the theme of “Litecoin Halving: History, Trends, Challenges and Opportunities”.

As part of the 7th anniversary celebration, ViaBTC has prepared three parties with the theme “Play to Earn More Than $7777.” Users will receive a reward for completing the tasks under each party.

After Ethereum shifted away from PoW through the Merge, for a while, GPU mining had become leaderless. While coins forked from Ethereum can still be mined with GPUs, most miners are skeptical about their future prospects. Following the Merge, the ETC hashrate only grew by 100 TH/s, while Ethereum boasted a network hashrate of 850 TH/s prior to the Merge. A significant portion of the GPU hashing power was lost.

Despite that, a few pools continue to pursue innovation, adapt to changes, and achieve large-scale and specialized operations, thus establishing a firm foothold in the market and recording sustained growth. Although Bitcoin leads the crypto market in terms of both popularity and market cap, its position is being challenged as people gradually become aware of some of its problems, such as high transaction fees, extremely slow transaction processing speed, and limited scalability.

PoW is similar to an internal combustion engine that consumes fuel, emits exhaust gases, but provides robust performance while evoking a sense of traditional mechanical aesthetics. On the other hand, PoS resembles a rapidly evolving, environment-friendly electric motor that emits no exhaust gases but may encounter certain limitations in specific scenarios.
