Why Is Auto Conversion Not Running on My Mining Rewards?
2026-10-25 16:42

If ViaBTC's Auto Conversion is not running as expected, start by checking whether the coin is supported, whether Auto Conversion is enabled for the account holding the balance, and whether the balance may be too small to trigger conversion. Next, check Conversion Records to distinguish a conversion that has not triggered from one still being executed. If BTC or USDT has already been credited to your ViaBTC account, conversion has completed; moving it to an external wallet requires a separate withdrawal.

Auto Conversion operates after mining rewards have been calculated and credited under the selected payout method, such as PPS+ or PPLNS. It exchanges supported coin balances into BTC or USDT within the ViaBTC account. It does not affect hashrate, valid shares, or how mining rewards are calculated.

Step 1: Check Conversion Records and Your Balance

Before changing settings, review what has happened in the account:

  • Conversion history: My Assets → History → Conversion Records
  • Balance and bill details: Assets → My Assets → History

Use the order history and balance records to check whether a conversion was submitted and whether the destination asset has been credited. If there is no record, continue with the coin, account, and balance checks below. If a conversion is still being executed, see Step 5. If it has completed but the funds remain in your ViaBTC account, see Step 6.

For help finding these records, learn how to view your asset history.

Step 2: Confirm the Coin Is Currently Supported

Auto Conversion only operates on a defined list of coins, and that list can change. As of October 23, 2026, ViaBTC's supported coins for Auto Conversion are BTC, BCH, LTC, ZEC, DASH, and DOGE.

ViaBTC's September 2026 Conversion service update removed KAS, NMC, FB, BELLS, PEP, and DINGO from the Conversion service, effective September 23, 2026. According to the announcement, deposits and withdrawals for these assets remain available on the Assets page; only the conversion function was discontinued for them.

This matters for miners who receive auxiliary assets through merged mining. DOGE received alongside Litecoin mining remains eligible for Auto Conversion, provided the relevant settings and conditions are met. A balance in one of the six removed coins is no longer eligible, regardless of its Auto Conversion toggle setting.

Step 3: Verify Auto Conversion Is Enabled for the Correct Asset and Account

If the coin is supported, check whether the setting itself is active. The configuration path is:

Assets → My Assets → select coin → Settings → enable Auto Conversion → select an available conversion direction → complete security verification.

Auto Conversion is configured for the selected coin. Enabling it for BTC does not automatically enable it for DOGE or another coin. Miners using a main account and sub-accounts should check the account that actually holds the balance.

ViaBTC's Auto Conversion instructions also explain how to enable it for sub-accounts: go to My Assets → Sync Settings, select the sub-account, and complete security verification. Use Multi-Account Comparison to review the setting records.

Step 4: Check Whether the Balance May Be Too Small

Auto Conversion operates on an hourly basis, but this does not guarantee that every new reward credit will be converted in the next cycle. ViaBTC states that a balance may be too small to trigger conversion.

For example, a miner who enables DOGE-to-USDT Auto Conversion may see no conversion after the next hourly cycle. A small balance is one possible explanation; it does not by itself establish that the feature has malfunctioned.

ViaBTC separately states that minimum and maximum amounts for a single conversion vary by currency and are displayed on the Conversion page. These limits are useful to check, but the public documentation does not explicitly establish that the displayed single-conversion minimum is also the automatic trigger threshold. Do not treat exceeding that figure as a guarantee that the next hourly cycle will convert the balance.

If the balance remains unconverted, review the other checks in this guide and contact support if the cause remains unclear. See ViaBTC's conversion rules and limits for the published guidance.

Step 5: Check Whether a Triggered Conversion Is Still Being Executed

A conversion that has been triggered is not always completed instantly. According to ViaBTC, a larger conversion may take approximately one to two hours to execute, with delays generally related to market conditions at the third-party exchanges processing the trade.

This is an execution-time estimate for a conversion already underway. It is not a deadline measured from when you enabled Auto Conversion, and it does not explain why an order has not appeared.

The price and estimated convertible amount shown before execution are reference values. The final amount received depends on the executed price, which reflects real-time market depth at ViaBTC's partner exchanges. If an execution delay persists, submit a support ticket. These details are covered in ViaBTC's Conversion FAQ.

Step 6: Distinguish Completed Conversion from Withdrawal

Auto Conversion changes the asset held within the ViaBTC account. It does not send funds to an external wallet.

If USDT has been credited to your ViaBTC account after a successful conversion but has not arrived in your external wallet, the conversion itself has completed. Moving those funds externally requires a separate withdrawal.

If you want funds transferred automatically, check the separate Auto Withdrawal settings, including the destination and applicable payout conditions. Auto Withdrawal supports withdrawal to an address or to your own ViaBTC main account or sub-account, so confirm that the selected destination matches your intended outcome.

Important: Deposits Are Also Subject to Auto Conversion

Auto Conversion applies to the selected coin balance, including both mining rewards and deposits. If you deposit a supported coin into an account where Auto Conversion is enabled for that coin, the deposit is also subject to the setting. The feature does not distinguish between mining-derived balances and deposited funds.

When to Use Instant Conversion or Contact Support

Instant Conversion lets you submit a conversion order for a chosen amount instead of waiting for the hourly automatic process. Check the limits displayed for the selected currency before submitting an order. Submission does not guarantee immediate completion; a large order may still take time to execute, depending on market conditions at the partner exchange.

If no conversion record appears, first confirm that the coin is supported, the setting is active for the correct account, and the balance may not simply be too small. If these checks do not explain the issue, submit a support ticket with the relevant account and coin details.

If a conversion has already triggered but remains incomplete, refer to the execution guidance in Step 5 and contact support if the delay persists. The one-to-two-hour estimate for larger orders should not be used as a guaranteed trigger or completion deadline.

FAQ

Does Auto Conversion affect my mining hashrate or reward calculation?

No. Auto Conversion operates on balances after mining rewards have been calculated and credited under the account's selected payout method. It has no effect on hashrate, valid shares, or how mining rewards are calculated.

Why did my KAS or PEP balance stop converting?

Conversion support for KAS, NMC, FB, BELLS, PEP, and DINGO ended on September 23, 2026. The official announcement states that deposits and withdrawals remain available, but these coins are no longer eligible for the Conversion service.

Does the displayed minimum guarantee that Auto Conversion will trigger?

No such guarantee is established in the public documentation. ViaBTC states that small balances may not trigger Auto Conversion and separately lists currency-specific limits for a single conversion. It does not explicitly confirm that the displayed minimum is the automatic trigger threshold.

If Auto Conversion completed, why don't I see the funds in my external wallet?

Auto Conversion changes the asset held inside the ViaBTC account; it does not move funds externally. A separate withdrawal is needed. If you expect an automatic transfer, check your Auto Withdrawal destination and payout conditions.

How long should I wait if a conversion is still being executed?

ViaBTC indicates that larger conversions may take approximately one to two hours to execute because of third-party exchange market conditions. This estimate applies to execution after a conversion has triggered, not to the time since enabling the setting. Contact support if the delay persists. If no order appears, check coin support, account settings, and the balance first.
